MCA Autonomous Team of Very Agreeable Raiders

Or for short, MCA "ATVAR". Since we will probably die horribly in a fire many, many times... and we all know whose fault that will be... the name of this raid is rather appropriate.

I'm looking to put together a short term raid for those that are raiding capable already and would like to do something this weekend. Something like 6-9PM (server time) Saturday and Sunday. Interested parties feel free to apply. Naturally this will be a 10 man raid since there wouldn't be enough for a 25 man even if we wanted to.

So what do we need.

1 Main Tanks
1 Off Tank (DPS Offspec)
2 Healers
1 DPS/Healer Hybrid
5 DPS

Preferably your average item level should be above 340 equiped as a general gauge. All gear should be gemmed with Cataclysm gems and enchants should be mostly Cataclysm enchants. You should also provide your own consumables (food, bandages, potions, flasks). Loot will be a simple need before greed, main spec before off spec rolls (the "don't be an ass" rule).

Apply today. I may want to run a heroic or two with you to see what you're made of.

Quinafoi (Balance/Restoration)
Failure (Protection/Retribution)
Silphia (Feral/Feral)

I'll probably be up for this.

If we manage to round up enough people, provided we control Tol Barad (forget the instance's name) I would probably start us out there since it is a relatively simpler encounter and help break people back in. After that don't know which instance I'd head to first, I'll do a little bit more reading and try to go where our group comp may be more successful.

I'll go. I prefer DPS, but can tank if it is absolutely needed.

I would like to go if there is a dps spot you need to fill. All I can offer is my hunter (Vecon) who just turned 85. Currently his gear score is 313; I would likely bring that up some before Saturday night.

So, if you are having trouble getting that 5th dps spot filled with better geared folks (as unlikely as that would be) you can give me a yell.

Not sure if your hunter would be ready by then. Keep in mind 329 is the requirement to even run heroics.

I am definately leaning towards doing Baradin Hold first (the new Vault of Archavon) because it is a considerably easier encounter overall. After that probably work on Conclave of Wind at Throne of the Four Winds. The reason being is that is a technical encounter, it doesn't have a rigid berzerk timer to beat. DPS requirements in particular are quite steep. After that would probably work on starter bosses in Blackwing Decent. In particular the Omnitron Defense System also doesn't have a hard berzerk time.

Early on I think I'd prefer the more technical fights simply because proper execution is bound to make more difference in those encounters than raw throughput potential as I'm uncertain what people would be capable of so far.

Still need more people though. I know there are more 85s out there than this. I also realize that measurement of 340 item level score is more of a guideline than a requirement because right now there aren't many in MCA above that, though in the next week or two that will change quickly as people start hitting revered and exhalted with factions and run more heroics. We have maybe 5-7 people total in the MCA that are over 340 and probably about 15 in the low 330s just at the threshold of starting heroics.

This raid isn't designed so much to clear content as it is to get people's feet wet and start looking at this stuff. You can easily spend two hours wiping in a heroic, so I figure three hours of wiping in a raid isn't a huge stretch for people who don't let it discourage them too easily.

There are a lot more 85s in MCA but I think a lot of us don't meet the gear requirements yet. I know just among many of us Muffinsinsins, some of us don't even have the ilvl to queue for heroics yet.

(of course, I just hit 85 myself)

I also just hit 85 a couple nights ago. I'd like to join in a raid as soon as I can but I doubt I'll be geared for it by this weekend. Probably by next weekend, but I'll have a lot of Christmas to do.

I am going to try and do Baradin Hold before Christmas, provided the Alliance ever controls it again...

I'm happy to come heal (Holy Priest) for any raid you want to do, and my average ILevel is up to 345 now, almost nothing left for me in Heroics >.<

I'm working on getting my ilvl up but if I'm around, I am interested on Tziva.

Kordun has made some significant progess in the gear department and has a gear score of 342. Saturday eves are bad for me but I'll see if you still need a healer on sundays.
